Review: My mother always told me that due to my short stature and larger than normal bust that I should avoid wearing patterns which draw attention to areas they shouldn't. In large part my mother has been right, and I have for most of my life avoided patterns.
However of late the cycling kit phenomenon has encouraged me out of my comfort zone when it comes to patterns, including my most recent purchase of the Search and State S1-A Riding Jersey in Junmai print. It's styling pattern draws attention in all the right ways.
Search and State has been a favourite of mine since the high end cycling kit phenomenon began (at least in my world) around 2010. Their product is legit, made in Midtown Manhattan, the home of New York City’s original garment district. While the price point is higher than some other brands, the quality is worth every dollar.
The S1-A Riding Jersey in Junmai print is made of a reasonably unstretchy fabric and the sizing is therefore very true to measure. I bought a large and it fits perfectly both across the bust and hips. The fit is snug and the fabric breathes well. I'm also a big fan of the depth and taughtness of the pockets. The print is not overly loud and paired with some black knicks is a flattering ensemble on anyone (short or otherwise!)
